IPTA offers two different kinds of membership, professional membership and associate membership.

By-Laws

ARTICLE 1    MEMBERSHIP

SECTION 2. Professional members of the Association shall consist of teachers of piano in the State of Indiana in the following counties:  Marion, Hamilton, Boone, Hendricks, Johnson, Morgan, Shelby, Hancock, and Madison, who have been accepted as members.  Requirements for Professional Members are a college degree with a major or minor in music, piano pedagogy, or music education, with two years of advanced piano study OR have five years teaching experience, two years of advanced piano study with a teacher holding a music degree and show sufficient evidence of in-service education.

SECTION 3. Associate Members are all other teachers of piano with two years teaching experience and sufficient evidence on in-service education.  They do not have the privilege of holding office or presenting students in IPTA Group Recitals or Scholarship Auditions. Upgrading to professional membership is encouraged for all associate members.

 

ARTICLE II  DUES

                SECTION 1. Annual Dues are $30.00 for professional members and $25.00 for Associate Members, and $20.00 for collegiate students
